TEMPTING FEAR

A film by my self and Mike Douglas.

Over the past 3 years he’s logged first descents in a half-dozen countries, battled back to life from an accident that nearly killed him, and become the most talked about skier in the epicenter of all things extreme — Chamonix, France.

What makes Andreas most intriguing, however, are his thoughtful musings on meaning from a life on the edge – a willingness to enter mental spaces that few have ever experienced.

In Tempting Fear Sweden’s soft-spoken Adventurer of the Year explores a place in which fear overwhelms all emotions, playing both friend and enemy in a pas de deux where death lies just one misstep away.

Awards:
”Best Action Film” – Adventure Film Festival 2012
”Best Story” – X-Dance 2013

Reaching My Limit Eisode 2

Follow acclaimed extreme skier and ski mountaineer Andreas Fransson, and adventure filmer Bjarne Salén on their quest of finding new lines, enjoying the beautiful Argentinian mountains and pushing the limits of steep skiing in one of the last frontiers of wild mountains in Patagonia.

In September 2012 the two friends visited the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre massifs in southern Argentina on the border of Chile for yet another ski adventure. They found beautiful lines, harsh weather, friendly locals and one of the steepest and most technical lines they ever seen on the Whillans ramp of Aguja Poincenot – Maybe one of the steepest and most exposed lines ever skied.

This is the last episode.

Lyngen Descents Episode 3

The Lyngen Alps is a jagged mountain range located on a half island on the northern Norwegian coastline. It’s a magic place for ski touring in the early spring when the days are long and the snow conditions normally are good.

Skiers Andreas Fransson and Morgan Salén together with filmmaker Bjarne Salén explored the Lyngen Mountains during three weeks in April 2012.

During this time they made six first descents and skied some of the best snow they had ever found in Scandinavia – This is episode three out of three.
